    about 2-pass encoding

Is the .log file generated by the first pass independent of Flask settings ?

Example: During the first pass I used a resolution of 640*480.
Now for the second pass, am I allowed to change resolution to 512*... . Will the log file still contain the correct information on how to compress the movie ?

I recently read on a guide that you souldn't change any settings when you are moving from the first pass to the second one.I believe this included the resolution.
But I am not sure about this.Maybe someone who knows more an how this codec works could answer your question.

It seems rather silly that you woulnd't be able to change ANY settings - I mean isn't that defeating the whole point of the log file? So you can make changes in compression settings & not have to redo the analysis of the movie?
I know you can change the Bitrate; I would expect that you can change the res too but as Nick has said also, don't neccesarily take my word for it.
