SBC encoding did not go well ...

I've Ripped my DVD to the HardDrive, the Vobs look and sound good and I wanted to make the best Divx with Nandub SBC encoding method (which intend to Produce a better result in Divx).

I Choose to Frameserve from DVD2AVI, so I saved the Movie
Project in .d2v file, then I used in VFAPIConvEN to convert the
.d2v file to a fake AVI.

I've Opend the faked AVI in Nandub and from there I continue
    as Follow in this guide:

(First making an 1Pass state File ... until I got to the level of saving as AVI).

Finally After several Hours I got the Divx Encoded in the size I want and even the Properties looked good but when I opend the File I didn't expected to discover that the quality isn't good (picture), actually I got Better result in DVDx 2.0 (in the same file size).

I don't Understand What's go wrong, I did exactly as mention in the guide except that I added the Audio in MP3 VBR too (perhaps
I wasn't supposed to add the sound yet? but later?)

I want to mention that the movie was 25 FPS in pal and Full Screen, length of 85 minutes. - perhaps there is a spicial setting for this kind of movies ?

Thanks in advance for any reply .

click on my upper anigif and compare the the nandub routines i describe.

i'd suggest to use gordianknot + divx5, however.

you will find guides on both.

What video bitrate and resolution are you using? And are you using the more current nandub 1.0rc2? That guide you are using is referring to an older version of nandub.

The doom9.org sbc guides are a great resource that you should read.

I'm using the latest version of nandub...

            perhaps that's the problem ?
So where shuold I find an updated guide?

and I've used the calculated bitrate (959 - sould be OK right?).
also the resolution was 512X384 as acceptable, right ?(pal - 4:3)

In Doom there is a guide with GK and I already tried GK and not go well - it to much complicated and not even work for me, so I choose to use VFAPIConvEN to convert the .d2v file to a fake AVI and opening in NanDub.....

the guide i was referring to is based on the latest tools/version and was meant for comparison.

and there is no story behind the caprice bourret pics.

                http://www.doom9.org/nandub.htm

You do need to experiment around with the nandub settings to find which work best. There is no single setting that will work perfectly for all materials (though there is indeed a range of values that will work well enough for every parameter ).

                    You're welcome.

Just keep in mind that Doom9's guide will not necessarily help you get the result you want. That's where experimentations come in. Have fun.

Outline to me some of the SBC settings that you are using. In addition, describe to me what you mean by bad or not good (ie. how bad is the picture? Macroblocks, warming, etc.?)

                            well, I'ts simple

The picture looked like I've set the bitrate to 300 (although the bitrate that I set is 955).

the picture don't have any blocks or a somthing like that... I'll try to upload a picture. (right now I'm trying to encode the movie again based on Doom's guide - Hope For Good !)
See ya later in 5 hours.

                              well, I finished the encoding..

And seems that the quality is much better now (compared to the encoding that I make before).

I also forgot to mention that the sound was vbr 128 - 360 and sized 100 mb and seems to me that most rips are at 50 mb more or less a few mb, so I think that I could make a much quality rip
if I was do a 32 - 128 vbr audio and spare the mega bytes for video encoding.
