    WMV to DIVX conversion....

Well.... I'm a newbie in all that.
I just purchased a TV card in order to videotape some sports events that happen in the night.
Now my VCR software produce a WMV file format extremely big (for a decent quality it will take about 4 giga for a 2 hrs of TV). I know that DIVX file format can be lot smaller than that, but I've serious problems in converting these files.
Any suggestion for a easy-one-step-dumbproof software where I just type the source file and the destination folder and bingo it's done??

    Pleaaaaasseeee help!!!

Converting WMV files is a pain in the a$$. You might be able to do it with virtualdub1.3c but I'am not making any promises.
It would be much better if you use virtualdub to capture directly to avi files. Either directly to divx (if your PC is fast enough) or better yet using the huffyuv codec for the best possible quality (requires a lot of HD space durring capture, and has to be reencoded for permanent storage).
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

          Thanks

          Thanks to you all guys....
It seems that anyway the space requested is way too big for my purposes... I'll try to work it out in a different way.... I'll let you all know what I managed to do
