    2pass encoding in one time

I wonder if there is a way to make flaskmpeg (or any other program) to compress a movie using divx 4.12 first pass and after it finishes with the first pass to move to the second pass immediately (without my "help").
Someone who owns a very fast computer will find this very usefull because in a P2Gh the compression lasts 2.5 hours so if you leave your computer working all night long you won't get the whole movie at the morning (only the first-pass and you have lost many hours). But with this way (if any exists ) you will get your movie finished at the morning!!!

Although I still use old reliable v.0.594PX3, I have read at the Flask website that v.0.6xx has job batch control capability. Perhaps you can use this to automate your first and second passes.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

You can't do this in flask, I think it can be done in Xmpeg, but I have never tried this feature.
Another tool that will also do this is GordianKnot , in which you can also setup several jobs.

This will not work, codec setting are global in flask 0.6, that is you can't set the first job to do first pass, and then let second job do the second pass.

I have tried to use the batch job at flask mpeg 0.6 but it wasn't working.
          I will try with xmpeg.

            Xmpeg works well.

Xmpeg works well on automatic second pass encoding.

using nandub with divx3/ms v2 what you describe is the usual routine

maybe gordian knot will do the job for divx4

                Macro Magic

You might give Macro Magic a try. You can schedule it to execute a macro to configure and start your second pass. Just provide it a start time after you know the first pass will be complete. It can copy mouse movments/keystrokes to basically mimic exactly what you would do if your were at the keyboard.

                  Hello Nickmavros,

Nice to see you again. Effectively, Xmpeg works fine in automatic two pass encoding. I had the same problem than you...
Using Xmpeg is easy when coming from Flask.
Now I get my divX ready every morning waking up !

BTW, I followed your advices and now I make very nice animated menus, with all bonus and so on... It's a bit long to do, but what a result !!

                  See you

agree with uncasms, very simple and easy. perfect.

Why does setarip always use flask?
