    new methods

I have been out of the encoding stuff for a while now (nearly half a year)
and becuase i now have a huge stock of ANIME DVD i decided to start encoding them again
but becuase i have not been doin this for a while i do not know any new methods of encoding
could some people be kind enought to inform me with the new methods and which ones are the best
ps i do not mind how long or how hard the methods are as long as the best results are produced
    thankyou

i have only used GK for converting DVD into a job
and then encoding the job with Nandub
is there now a new version of GK that produces better results than Nandub?

I suppose what you meant by job is an Avisynth script (AVS) file.

Depends on your source type. I've always found SBC to be superior for anime. I'm currentlt trying out XviD and it looks very promising.

Only for anime, and then again, not always. SBC produces the sharpest image and the least mosquito noise, but can be prone to shits (DivX5 and XviD don't suffer from these).

I suggest you try out XviD and see how it goes. I'm currently searching for a matrix (XviD component) supposedly tailored for anime. Maybe I'll give Doom9's forum a visit and search there.

You're welcome. Glad I'm not the only anime fan here.

I haven't been watching anime as frequently as I used to, but anyway, I'm currently finishing RahXephon, and going to watch Ai Yori Aoshi, Groove Adventure Rave and Chobits. At times, I rewatch the funny shows Azumanga Daioh and Jungle wa itsumo hale nochi guu.

I usually set aside some time in the night to watch these shows, but it's becoming pretty irregular now. There aren't that many shows anyway. Note I said plan to. It can be anytime soon or even months later.
