    ? on video setting

My DVD is NTSC. Flask says it is interlaced, but when I open video options tab, "reconstruct progressive images" is checked. I tried unchecking it and checking deinterlace video with threshold of 5 and with 10, but the final video did not run smoothly. I finally left "reconstruct progressive images" checked, so that flask said my input was interlaced, and output progressive, and the video ran perfectly! Anyone else use this setting? Does this make sense?

    Thanks,
    Rick

    1) You should run the Flask player for a minute or so, so that you get past the studio (Warner, Touchstone, etc.) logo to see if Flask changes the description from "Interlaced" to "Progressive". Many times (and I don't have a clue as to why it's done), only the logo is interlaced.

    2) If, when you open the Flask player, it indicates on the right side that the format is 29.97 converted to 23.976, I believe your conversion will benefit from having the checkmark "on" in "Reconstruct Progressive Images".

You were right! The logo was interlaced, the movie progressive!

      Thanks!
