    OGG / OGM Creation and Cutting Guide

    this guide was written more than 2.5 yrs ago has not been updated ever since - some tools have slightly changed since then!

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++

    i have written a guide on OGG / OGM since i consider ogg much better than mp3 and the container format OGM is much better than AVI, too, imho

    here is an url until this guide will be integrated into the php structure/menu

              OGM format is pretty good and everything..

              However, it's frustrating and stressful to convert that to mpeg for VCD/SVCD.

                  Well the thing is I downloaded a movie file that came in as OGM format and I've read a couple of sources regarding OGM -> VCD/SVCD and so far i'm stuck at one of the steps. Anyway, the steps to that conversion is long and complex.

                  Splitting audio and video to separate files.
                  Then convert ogg audio file to wav then to mp2
                  Turn OGM to AVI then turning that to m2v.
                  Combining m2v w/ mp2, then burn.

                  You get the idea.

                          well, mp4 is more powerful of course but still i dont want to create avi/mp4, mkv or ogm nowadays as i want my dvdplayers to be able to handle the content

                          avi is supported but the format isnt good enough imho
                          all others are not supported so far and thus i for one prefer real dvd backups and nothing else

                          it may of course make a difference when capturing from tv but i dont capture myself and that's the reason my focus of interest has changed from avi/ogm to dvd quite some time ago

                          as you create mp4 and you're familiar with it maybe you'd be the right person to write any such guide?

                            that's why i love s-video/dvi out

                            already started a dvd/mpeg-2-->x264+aac+ocr subs guide its gonna be a damn long one, too many things to consider. probably need to write a whole nother section & multiple warnings on system requirements
