Divx - Mpg To S Vcd

    Hello,
    I'm back with few problems
Last time, i try to convert *.AVI files to S VCD and it works (thank you again & specially BATMAN)
Now, I try to convert *.mpg files to S VCD and it doesn't work anymore ???
    (NANDUB+WINAMP+TMPGEnc Plus).
Winamp doesn't want to convert my *.mp3 files into *.WAV files. Is it normal & what can i do or suppose to do ?
NB : windows Media player doesn't work very well (it tells me that i have an error & it needs "studio.exe" to works where i can find it, i try to download a new version but i have still the same problem)
Thanks in advance for your help

WHAT FORMAT OF MPEG ARE YOU TRYING TO USE FOR SVCD

THE CORRECT MPEG IS MPEG-2 FOR SVCD'S.... YOU SOUND LIKE YOU NEED TO GET YOUR HANDS ON A GUIDE TO ENCODING TO FOLLOW STEP-BY-STEP...

I HAVE MY OWN GUIDE AND IF YOU LIKE I WILL SEND YOU IT...

    IF YOU LIKE E-MAIL ME:

MPG to S VCD (FROM DIVX)

      Hello,

Steve i know that the correct MPEG is n°2 for S VCD.
The problem is when i try to do the same as for *.AVI files (it works) to *MPEG2 files, it doesn't work with *.MPG files. What do i suppose to do ?
USUALLY, i use NANDUB, then WINAMP (to convert into wav files) at this time, it does nothing with my previous *.mp3 files (i have converted with nandub) and then TMPGEnc Plus.
      Why ????
The files came from downloading on KAZAA.
      Thanks

What are u trying to do? Convert MPEG1 to MPEG 2? (In the case, VCD?)

If so, use TMPGENC, and make sure u have MPEG2 filters installed (like powerdvd). I have made many guides, but unfortunatly, my server has exceeded bandwidth!

If you want to convert AVI to MPEG2, again, use TMPGENC.

But make sure, in ALL cases that the audio is 44100Hz and NOT 48000Hz. To make sure, use virtualdub to open the AVI and goto file > file information.

If it is 48000Hz, then goto audio > full processing mode
goto audio > compression and select no compression

then goto file > save as wave and save it

then use a downsampler, like Wavelab and downsample to 44100Hz and save it, then use this with the video u r going to convert.

If TMPGENC won't open MPEG2 files, u need cyberlink powerdvd software installed, since it has MPEG2 filters (decoder) and then TMPGENC will able to open it.

But Still, I am not exactly sure what u r trying to do? Please explain.

        AVI > MPEG2?
        AVI > MPEG1?
        MPEG2 > MPEG2?
        MPEG1 > MPEG2?
        MPEG2 > MPEG1?
        MPEG2 > AVI?
        MPEG1 > AVI?

        WHA??

          DIVX TO DVD

          Hello,

I first try to convert AVI files to MPEG 2 (S VCD) : it works
Now, i have some *.mpg files, and i try to do the same things but when i try (step 2) to convert the audio (mp3 into wav files) before using TMPGEnc plus, winamp doesn't want to read the audio files (*.mp3) ?
The files came from a p2p (kazaa) ; it isn't an *.AVI files?
          ??
          Am i clear ?

            yes, u r clear.

are these MPEG files, MPEG1 or MPEG2????

if u are trying to strip the audio, then open it in TMPGENC, then goto file > output to file > output to wav and it will do it.

or load it in virtuldub and then goto audio > full processing mode, goto audio > compression > no compression

goto file > save as wave and save it. that should be it sorted for u

The problem is i don't know because the only informations i have on the properties of the files is "*.mpg"
so i don't know which extension is it (not a MPEG 2 for sure)

Firstly, u say it is 48000Hz the audio sample right? right? if so, save the audio, as I have told u how, and then downsample it using wavelab.

                  it is on my server

                  ftp://divxusers:divxusers@techftpserver.co.uk

it's in the audio or sounds folder.

Secondly, to determine if it is MPEG1 or MPEG2 file, open it in WMP (Windows Media Player) then pause the video, right click on it and goto properites, click on the last tab and if it says

                  MPEG audio
                  MPEG video

then it's MPEG1, otherwise, if it is something else like

                  cyberlink audio
                  cyberlink video

or something else, then it is MPEG2.

To take a screen shot, simply open that video, and go into properties again like i told u, then hit ALT + PRINT SCREEN on ur keyboard (PRINT SCREEN is next to the F12 key)

then open paint and paste it in there, and save it.

then upload it here with a msg.

                          Simple

First time I heard about those codecs!

anyway, u do know that wavelab only downsamples audio, don't u? remember, strip the audio in virtualdub to wave.

Right, Well, I'm sure TMPGENC can open this video file, try it, does it open? if so, then encode to whatever u want.

If u want to encode to DIVX, then use virtualdub/nandub

remember, if u wanna convert it to MPEG (like VCD/SVCD) downsample the audio, then load this wave with the video in TMPGENC and encode.
