first of all pls try the latest version 3.5x

then retry with a very small file and in case the process fails again, pls post your log file which should be located in the folder where your vob files are stored.

      good luck

one first question: why did you use the trim command?

                *Trim(0,117500)*

trim(0,117500) means, that you encode frame 0 to 117500

normally there should not be any trim command within your script, thats why i wondered about this

did you by chance *mess* with the peview function?

                    pls repeat your steps
maybe you should only use ONE small vob file for testing purposes and see how it works.

i'm quite sure you did something wrong the last time.

                      Thanks

i think you wouldnt have to split any vobs

take a look at your dvd and in most cases you should be able to find a smaller vobfile

try to find a file of 100-200mb in size

I did it with a small file and it worked, but in the .log file it still said the trim thing.....I didnt trim anything.....anyway I am waiting for it to complete a full film.

PS: I have tested out all the DivX codecs and i think the best one is 5.0.2 Pro because it is really fast (2-passes in less than 4 hours) and the quality is perfect.

Another question.... ......If my source is pal interlaced should I check deinterlace in DVX? It wasnt very clear to me in your guide.....

Thanks alot for all your help UncasMS!

de-interlace might help but again, i'd mark some 2-3 minutes and try different de-interlacing settings

in order to select 2-3 minutes use the PREVIEW function and the markerbuttons within this option

now try different de-interlacers and see which one works best

I dont know why but when I use a 2 min clip it works fine but with a full movie Virtual dub mod always gives me an unknown error at 90% of the second pass......

I think I will go back to GK I know that works on my machine, but the strange thing is it still uses virtualdubmod.........
