    I hope I do.

    You can rip the subs off the vobs by using vobsub or subrip depending on the format you want to use.

    If you want permament subs for, say svcd, then I can't help you since I never did it myself.

    Regards

        If you are planning on adding permanent subs to (S)VCD,try frameserving.

        You need three progs...VirtualDub TMPGEnc and VobSub

        Locate VDub dir. and doubleclick on AuxSetup.exe.Then Install Handler
        Open .avi in VDub and set Video tab to Full Processing Mode
        Then select Filters from the video dropdown menu.
        Press add and select TextSub.Open subfile and press OK.
        File-->Start Frame Server.Give it a name (something.vdr<--.VDR is important)and press start.

        Open .vdr file in TMPGEnc and select proper template(or set up manually).
        Wait until encoding is finished and you will have subs on (S)VCD.
