    Someone must know how to....

Am trying to convert an AVI to MPEG but the audio is not supported by TMPGEnc. Have used AVI Audio Decompressor to convert to PCM but sound gains 1 second every few minutes of video played. Have tried using Virtualdub to change framerate so sound and video sync (orig: 23.976 new: 23.981) but sound still gains! What am I doing wrong? The original AVI plays fine. Help...

    Try the following procedures instead:

Simply use NanDub to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:
Load your original .AVI into NanDub
Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"
Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" - and choose "<No compression(PCM)>"
From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"
Then set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Then save the .AVI as a silent .AVI (set "Audio" to "No audio" after you've saved the WAV file).

    Close NanDub

    Open TMPGEnc
First "drag and drop" the silent .AVI onto TMPGEnc's main window
Then drag and drop the .WAV audio file onto TMPGEnc's main window
