    DVD to Ogm Conversion Guide

I've just finished a DVD to Ogm conversion guide that uses the newly added DVDtoOgm tool.

DVDtoOgm is similar to Gordian Knot in terms of function, and anyone who has used Gordian Knot should not really have any trouble picking it up.

DVDtoOgm is currently in alpha, and so, not all features are available (as well as a few bugs).

You can read the DVD to Ogm conversion guide here :

VirtualDubMod will open OGM and one can resave as avi (minus subs & chapters)

Open file in VDubMod and goto OGM/Show Inputs and highlight the sound stream and click either Demux or Save to WAV (VirtualDubMod 1.4.13.1)

          Work from there.

I'll add a new mirror as soon as possible. This guide is also being updated for the new version (1.20 Alpha) of DVDtoOgm.

                    V-Dub error ---Fixed---

                    Hi,
                    excellent program and guide!

I'm having a little trouble though, is there a subtitle guide for the DVD to OGM program?
I have ripped and saved my *.srt file, added it in the ogm input tab but no subtitles in the actual movie.

can someone point me in the right direction

any help would be greatly appreciated

V-dub error was fixed ..... human error

Well, try to find the error...

I have ripped and saved my *.srt file, added it in the ogm input tab but no subtitles in the actual movie.
Well, if you saved your Settings and loaded them again, this is a known Bug which should be fixed in DVDtoOgm 1.20.1 alpha (http://DVDtoOgm.DivX-Digest.com)

If you just straight encoded the movie, are you sure that you klicked the "add" Button after choosing the subtitle sorce? If no, you should do next time! If you are sure you did, please eMail or post the *.log-File and let me check it.

The Subtitles are not forced, what means, if looking a movie you habe to select the subtitle over the player menue. Else the Sub won't be displayed.

Last idea: You have surly installed the Subtitle decoder or VobSub Text-Decoder? If not, you shoul do, because this coul be another reason for missing Subs...

This is all I could thing about, when reading your problem, hope on helps...

                        Thanks,

I think I stumbled across most of those problems
I eventually got the subtitles to show up, under the movie.

They didn't show when in full screen, is there a way to mimic the traditional subtitles, mine are below the actual movie screen.

Is there a guide for subrip?

And is there a way to force subtitles (apart from adding them frame by frame)

LOL, I hate being a newbe!

I'm having a problem when using XviD.

If I use DivX it's fine, but when I try and use XviD it immediately completes both passes in VirtualdubMod, muxes the audio and claims the job is complete.

I've tried a couple of versions of Xvid with no sucess. The only way I've managed to get it to work is to complete the entire first pass once then to do the 'both' pass and for some reason that seems to work.

                            Anyone got any ideas?

                            Thanks

I have the *EXACT* same problem, but not even divx will work for me. Neither will trying the first pass once and then the both-pass. Same thing every time, the virtual dub thing just completes instantly.

Hopefully someone will fix this soon, as I haven't managed to get DVD2OGM to work yet, and it looks like a terrific program!

Lemme know if you get this fixed...
