Hay What is the fastest way to convert Divx to mpeg? I want to put divx on a VCD and I tried avi2mpeg. It is just sooo slow. It takes me like a day to convert a movie. Also I tried TMPGEnc. It is faster but it wolnt work on all my movies. any sugestions?

what are your computer specs, because they all take a long time

I convert an one hour avi into a one hour mpg in a little more then one hour, but i'm using a 1.7GHz PIV (256 MHz)

If i would do this on my "old" computer it would take me (with the same TMPGEnc program) at least 6 - 8 hours

So to answer your question ................ it is not so much the program as it is your computer

I dont think it is my computer. I have a pentium 4. Im not sure what speed. TMPGEnc works in a little less time than the movie, but it does not work on all my movies.

Tell us a little bit more about those problems

What are the messages you get, because far as i know you can load every avi into TMPGEnc and make a movie out of it

Well not right away, you might have to change the avi a little and play with the settings (although the template wotrks pretty well for me)

What do you need NTSC or PAL etc etc etc; there is a lot of knowledge on this board but you have to be specific with the problem

hope we can help out a little

When I try to load some movies It says :
The resolution of the video is illegal

The window size needs to be set between 8x8 and 4088x4088

The width and height of the windos needs to be a multiple of 8

          How do I fix this?

I know that for a vcd the size of the video (in TMPGEnc) must be
            352 x 288

(But since i only use the template that comes up automatically,)

Just check this size if you configure the output manual
