XviD movie turns into green blocks???

I've been using XviD to encode movies for a while now without any problems; I recently upgraded my motherboard and all my old XviD movies now when played turn into green blocks, I personally think the chipset is to blame because that is the only major difference between my new motherboard and my old one. My old motherboard had a VIA chipset and my XviD movies worked fine but my new board has an Ali MagiK chipset but the other hardware in my system is the same(vid card etc.).
I turned overlays off in media player but that does not work...

can anyone help me with this problem.. Any help would be appreciated.

Reinstall the codec - get it from somewhere else.

When I first got Xvid, I had green blocks, but I uninstalled it and downloaded it from somewhere else and it's fine.

    Hope that helps
