    The BEST conversion tool...

Could somebody tell me what the most recommended program is to convert DVD's tot DivX? I post this question, because on the net there is not ONE program that seems to be the very best... I dont expect to get only one answer here aswell, so peepz try to convince me

    Currently I'm using following software:
    - For ripping: CladDVD 2.0
    - Encoding: FlaskMpeg 0.78.39 (the latest)
    - Subtitels: Subrip
    - Player: MicroDVD 1.2

I'm quite satisfied with the quality of the movies I created, but I'm sure the quality could stil be improved, depending on the software being used. After all, there are lots of parameters that determine the quality of your movie.

    Thx in advance for replies

New GKnot release 0.28 (alpha 4)

DivX3 support and DivX 5.0* support.

Download Gordian Knot for free. Gordian Knot started out as a simple bitrate calculator for DivX encoding but has evolved to become an integrated package or tool for the entire process of DivX/XviD encoding.

Well I used your tips and installed the Gordian Knot 0.27 Rip pack.
One problem: I don't manage to get it encoding a movie.
I configure the program, following the guide on Doom9.net, but at the end I constantly get errors...

For example, The Compressibility test fails, failed opening certain log files, could not count encoded frames

With as result he "encodes" at 0 Fps for exactly 0 seconds...

Does anyone know what could be the problem?

gk 0.27 only works with divx3, ms v2 or divx5.02
