    Nandub v1.0rc2

    Hi!

I decided to try encoding divx-movies using DVD2AVI and Nandub v1.0rc2.

I tried to follow the guide at:
    http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/nandub.htm,

but ran into a problem. He's using Nandub v0.21, and it differs from my version.

For example, when it says: Once you used all the crop and resizing filters you need you will need to make sure it is going to generate a stats file. Your stats file will contain all the informaton Nandub find on the 1st pass. So choose:

Video > SBC Options > Generate stats
Video > SBC Options > No AVI output ,

only i can't seem to find the generate stats option. I thought i'd try anyway, and chose File> First Pass, and typed a stats filename and clicked save.

Then i patiently waited 2 hours+, for the first pass to complete, but of course i didn't find the stats file i hoped had been saved.

Anybody know how i can fix this?
    All help greatly appreciated...thanx

          Thanks for answering

I just downloaded both of those, and I'll try them out now.
Also read your guide, it was very easy to follow.

I might have some more questions later, since I'm a total newbie

              Ok...Here I go with a newb question:

On Gordian Knot; when you press save & encode, there is a window which displays a divx 5 tab, xvid, audio 1 & 2 & encoder tab. On the Encoder tab it says where is nandub located at, and i have ticked the box saying:

Don't ask again. I don't use DivX 3. My question: Does nandub only use divX 3, and does Gordian Knot use SBC on divx 5 without Nandub?

If it doesn't, is it still better to use divx 5?

I'm sure you know this one

              Thanks again

true - nandub only uses ms v2 or divx3; no divx5 or xvid, which are better!

                use divx5 for a start.
