    encoding mixup, whaaa?

I am having trouble encoding usinf GKnot 0.27. The first problem I run into is with the compressability test. It finishes in about 1 second flat!

As a result, I don't have any info on the compressability test in the Bits/(Pixel*Frame) window.

Then: when encoding, the log reads:

Number of counted frames different from setting
    Frames:132466
    Counted: 0

I don't understand why GKnot isn't noticing my file?

    Help is appreciated!

sounds like you're using a codec which gk version 027 cannot handle.

do you have divx 5.05 installed?

    update gk.

I have 5.0.5 installed with the latest GKnot. Still, the compressability test yeilds no results. During encoding the audio encodes but the video is not found.

I've been tooling with this for almost a week now!

maybe an older version of divx might help: divx5.02 is very reliable

or you might want to try a different tool like for example DVX.

I was able to make a divx file finally. I was using dvddecrypter. I used smartripper to get the vobs. Now I encoded a great looking divx but with no audio!

Back to the drawing board. Guess I'll go mess around with the audio controls.
