vcd > divx help

i am following the doom9 guide on how to convert vcd to divx and when i try to import my mpeg file that i created with vcdgear it gives me a mpeg import filter: packet sync error. not sure whats happening, thnx for the help

Sounds like your trying to input an MPEG-2 file into a program that processes only MPEG-1 files...

(I don't use VCDEasy, so I'm simply speculating that, based on its name, it only handles MPEG-1 and MPEG-1VideoCD formats)

well the only job performed by vcdgear is converting the dat file to an mpeg sooo for some reason the mpeg that it creates is not readable by vdub. what do you use to convert vcd to divx

(You do realize that you didn't even mention VirtualDub in your initial post of this thread, don't you?)

1) Don't bother using VCDEasy at all

2) Try loading the ".DAT" file into VirtualDubMod (this is different than VirtualDub)
