Hi, a .doc? open the file in MS word and save it as .txt then convert this file to srt or sub using Subtitle Workshop 2.01 (is free), at time to convert the file keep in mind the movie framerate.

Best regards.

I may have not use the right term but "timeline" was refering to timing information needed to display subtitles in sync with your movie.

ex (.srt):

hh:mm:ss,xxx -> hh:mm:ss,xxx
text displayed

If the subtitle is in sub format you will see something like this:
{4223}{4273}Commence activation.
{4273}{4329}Connecting main power|to all circuits.

If the subtitle is in srt format you will see something like this:
00:02:56,134 --> 00:02:58,220
Commence activation.
00:02:58,220 --> 00:03:00,556
Connecting main power
to all circuits.

You can see in the left the times (in frames or in hh:mm:ss,xxx) in that have to be shown the subtitles.
If you have already the times you can just do what I said above, if not you have to add the times in subtitle workshop.
