No sound and no video with XVid :(

    Hi...

i'm using XVid to encode a movie with 2 passes, and the final product is aproximately the size i wanted but when i try to play it back there's no audio or video. The weird thing is that if i open the movie with VirtualDub and just save it again with direct stream copy, somehow it gets fixed and i can watch it without problems...

This didn't happen to me before... It started happening in my last 3 encodings.

I'm using the last stable build by Koepi. It happens using both DIVX and XVID as FourCC. I'm also using H.263

    Any thoughts about it?

    Sony Vaio PCG-FX502
AMD Duron at 1GHz, 256MB RAM
    VIA KT133A Motherboard
    ATI RAGE 8MB VRAM

Hey, i just discovered that it was Windows Media Player the one unable to play the file. Zoom Player played it without problems, so did the DivX Player. But i still don't like this. It makes me think there's something wrong with my files.

Try installing good ol' reliable Windows Media Player v.6.4

      Desktop>>Start>>Run Then type MPLAYER2.EXE

      Reboot...

Yeah, i'm happy... But i still don't know what's wrong with those files... they might not work in other computers... I noticed that the file is like 8KB bigger after i resave it with VirtualDub. Maybe some trouble in the header of the file?
