Having trouble with size of divx movie

    Hi,
When i put my vob files together and record the dvd i put the size to 720 width, and 576 height. The movie shows up rather thin accross the screen. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make it so the size it the actual size of the dvd in widescreen. I use smartripper to rip the dvd, when i open the vob file that is the size and the quality that i want my dvd recorded in regardless of the size of movie it makes

Did u check 'keep aspect ratio'
Did u follow the guides ? I would suggest one of these

Thanks for your help, I will read those but, I have one more question. Just recently I have tried to play back my .avi files and it says " (name of program) has cause and error in DIVXDEC.AX. (name of program) will now close. I use WMP and my ATI player, and before they worked but now the screen will just turn green and I am unable to watch the movie but, I can hear the sound. Do you know what could be causing this? I have attached a Picture of WMP displaying the error with the green screen but, the screen shows black in the attachment i sent.

First try an other player like "The Playa" and the newest divx-codec.
