    no audio after conversion

    Hi everybody !

    I have this xvid file i am trying to convert to mpg.

    I ripped the audio from the file using VirtualDub MOD and saved as a wav file.

    Then i converted it using TMPGEnc but the resulting mpg file has no audio !

    What could be the problem. Here is the file info if it would help anyone:

    Do NOT try to convert the audio to .WAV. Instead do the following:

    In TMPGEnc, under the "Environmental Settings" "VFAPI plugin" tab rightclick on the "Direct Show Multimedia Reader" and increase to the highest priority. This will enable TMPGEnc to accept a properly encoded (Xvid-compressed or otherwise) .AVI with .AC3 audio for input...

      thanx

      hey i seem to have fixed the problem.

      This time though i used the demux audio under the AVI menu in VirtualDub MOD and saved the audio as .ac3 file.

      Then i used BeSweet GUI v0.6 to convert the ac3 to wav with the 'Boost' Compress Dynamic Range option and i got a very LOUD wav file.

      This file i then used in TMPGEnc to convert and i have AUDIO !!!

      anyway thanx for the reply setarip. i always look forward to your help because there is always something new to learn from you pros! Way to GO !

        You've used a rather roundabout way to accomplish your purpose but - Whatever floats your boat ;>}
