Subtitles

I need help so bad right now. I'm using Gk and can't get permenant subtitles. Is there anthing I can do? I have read the guide like 20 times. Tried 3 other programs. What can I do? If anyone can help I'm in your debt.

couple of questions:

- why do you need PERMANENT subs insteadof creating an srt or subfile, which can be used optionally?

- which guide?

- did you use vobsub within gk?

I used the DVD to DivX 5.x using Gordian Knot guide. I wanted to subtitles to be permanent because its just easier instead of making a whole seperate file, I tried using the vob sub, but no luck. At the moment I'm trying DVX. We'll see how that goes.
