demux a avi 2 get the ac3??

How can i demux an avi file 2 get the ac3 stream?
I only have a sp/dif line-out in my hollywoord+ card. So i need 2 convert the avi to mpeg. But i can't get the ac3 to stay an ac3 stream.
Any Idea??

As a start, you can use VirtualDub V.1.4c-AC3 to extract the .AC3 audiostream as a separate file...

i could extract the ac3 stream, but it was not valid. Neither my hollywood+ player nor soft encode could open it.
But it plays fine within the avi file and the windvd software ac3 decoder.
I am extracting it by "Save wav" in virtual dub. Is there another way??

Are you using this SPECIFIC version of VDub,
VirtualDub V.1.4c-AC3 (NOT simply 1.4c) ? Are you saving it with an "AC3" extension?

Yes.
1.4.8-ac3
from ddigest.
First i couldn't find it. But of course dirctly under virtual dub.
