    osx x - windows compatibility

hello, i've been using divx encoders in windows for years. now i've switched to mac but when i try to open a final cut created file with any windows platform (w2k virtual pc included) an error message appears.
    (with videolan, mediaplayer or virtualdub)
virtualdub, for example, says that i cant locate a codec for dx50 format even if i've installed the latest codecs in both machines..

btw: to encode files i use the divx codec 5.1.1 (free version)

i just want create a windows friendly avi file with a mac. am i wasring time?

please help me, thanks a lot.

Use the 3IVX video codec. It is a true cross platform (PC>Mac, Mac>PC) codec...

      thanks a lot setarip.
      i've found it yesterday night.
Seems to be a good codec, videolan manage it easily either in os x and windows even if mov is a tipical qt file (i think.. you know, i'm a new mac user)...
does exist any way to create avi instead of mov files?
anyway, here you can find the results... (blip6 and blip7)

      thank you again. bye bye.
