Xvids are Pissing me off!

Every time I start to watch a xvid movie. About 10 seconds into it the video goes all scrambly and skips and gets all messed up.. every xvid I have does this. I have the right codec for it. I know a few other people with the same problem. I have Xvid codec, fddshow and divx player. I have tryed so many things to get it working but it still messes up while playing.
