Newest version of DivX. How Good?

I'm not sure how good the codec is. I haven't encoded with it. How is it now a days? Is it worth it or is there something else I should be using. I've personally always liked Xvid.

        My opinion...

        - RV10 for very low bitrate (1CD rips) n' anime/cartoon stuff

        - DivX 5.x for medium bitrate (2CD rips) encodes mainly

        - XviD for high bitrate (3CD's n' above) encoding

But thats only my personal opinion !!!

You should do your own tests to find out what codec gives the results you want...

When you are too lazy for this, read thus stuff !!!

Alright you guys don't get it. Where is Setarip?? I have done MANY rips before using all kinds of codecs I want to know how DivX's current version is... I don't want to know your personal prefrences. I want to know if it still is a good codec

Common, now you gonna hurt my feelings !!!

                ROFL...

Nah, if you just wanna hear something generally about the DivX 5.1x builds...

They have some nice improvements (PVE) especially for "low" bitrates !!!

If you liked DivX 5.x before, you gonna like the newer builds even more...

The main difference between DivX 5.1 and 5.1.1 is encoding speed: +20% standard mode, +50% slow and slowest.
There are no great improvements in video quality and all extra features (PVE, resize-crop-deinterlace, pre.processing) are still really bad (Avisynth and VDub filters are better).
...but if you haven't already tested 5.1, well, you should, it's perfect!

But if you want my personal opinion... c'mon don't be so irritable!

I havent had any problems with it. Its good quality for Anime/cartoons. But for Movies its not that great.
