Help needed in converting ASF to AVI through Virtualdub/MOD

    Hi all,

i need to convert a clip into avi, but its in stupid asf format. i really want to convert it through gordian knot, or virtualdub/mod, and only Dr. Divx seems to support the conversion. Please guys can you tell me if there is a way to run it through either gknot or vdub?

    Thanks

You need to obtain an earlier version of Virtual Dub (NOT MOD). The version is 1.3c which has support for ASF files. Also you should download and install the MPEG-4 V1/2/3 VKI Codec.

...and if it doesn't work (or, like me, you can't find it)try these:
        Asf Tools
        Stoik Video Converter

The first is really useful for converting and repairing asf files.
The second can convert almost everything, but it may have some bugs (the old version could change the fps).

          Yay! it worked!

I just downloaded virtualdub 1.3c (www.oldversion.com), and it was able to open ASF files... just opened the file, clicked "save as AVI" and worked like a charm. from there i just converted it to divx

          Thanks guys
