Whats best conversion tool for .VOB to .AVI

I used DVD decrypter to make .vob of one of my movies.
Which is the best Program to convert the .vob to a divx avi.

I have used DVD2AVI but its odd because I cant seem to choose what aspect ratio.

Could someone give me a guide or something?

- DVD2AVIdg 1.3 to create a d2v project from the vobs and demux the ac3 streams
- VFAPI Reader Codec to convert the d2v file to a fake avi
- Load the fake avi in VirtualdubMod (set deinterlace and lancsoz3 resize filter) + Xvid 1.0 2pass and the addition of the previously demuxed ac3 streams
- Encode, done

You could add the extra step of converting the AC3 audio to MP3, or some other format, for smaller files. Use HeadAC3he for that.

To prevent color conversations, feed your d2v with AviSynth to VDubMod...

All filtering like resizing, de-interlacing n' de-noising can be done with AviSynth !!!

This way you can use VDub's fast recompress mode instead of its full processing mode...

That prevents a YV12->RGB->YV12 colorspace conversation n' saves quality !!!
