    Mp3 or AC3 with Xvid

    HI,
I recently encode some dvds using xvid 1.0RC4 double pass (the quality is just incredible, good bye divx ) Otherwise I demux the audio tracks, so now I have the xvid video and two AC3 192kbps audio tracks, the question is what is it advisable? encode this tracks to mp3 or multiplex the video directly with the AC3 audio. For the time being I will play these videos in my pc but I'm thinking in buying some standalone dvd player that support divx - xvid in a future and it would be frustrating if my xvid with ac3 audio doesn't play on it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Keep the original AC3 stream !!!

    - Better quality than a re-encoded mp3

    - Mostly six channels, instead of only two

    - AFAIK its also fully standalone compliant

    Bye

        Noticeable?

Would the difference be noticeable even if you only have two speakers that don't support DTS, multiple channels or Dolby Digital?

          Depends on...

          - The quality of your speakers

          - The bitrate of the re-encoded mp3

          - Your ears

Just test it for your self if you are able to hear the difference !!!

          Bye
