IIRC, the only difference between this two output methods is...

Video: Produces a *.m2v (bare MPEG2 stream without container)

Sytem video: Produces a *.mpg (MPEG2 stream in MPG container)

Dont know anything about this ES-Video thingy...

Wich version are you using ???

    Bye

      Hi
I am using version 1.5.10, I also do not have a Stream tab on VDubMod when I select my Avi file. I am sure I have everthing is installed. I ran the Handler etc It looks like I have a different version here. Later I guess, and things are done a little different. I did get instructions off the Web. By the way, I already have an Mpeg just video file. I guess after I eventually get my AC3 audio file out, that somehow DVD Auth merges them together for one file??

Feed the video to DVD Author, and it will show you a warning message...

While this you can select the AC3 as audio input !!!

            Hello Soulhunter,

Thanks for the reply. Just for my own understanding here, so basically, the AC3 in the movie file(AVI) needs to be decoded, correct? Than the new output file from VDM get's fed to Dvd Auth with the Mpeg file from Tmpgenc. So, what actually happens when you feed the entire AVI file to Tmpgenc, then to Dvd Auth? Which is the process I was originally doing(It seemed so simple then) Is the sound getting corrupted, thus, when burned you get just video?? I beleive you stated earlier, that when you input the entire AVI file to Tmpgenc, this causes and encoding to occur twice on the sound.
            Thanks again,
            Alski

              Hello SoulHunter,

Well, that did it. Everything worked out great, per your instructions.
              Thanks very much,
One final question, any thoughts on my previous update, I would appreciate, just for my own education.
Also, when watching this movie, I have the volume on my laptop all the way up, and can hardly hear the sound. Does this have anything to do with the Movie itself?

              Thank You,
              Alski

It needs only to be decoded while playing the file...

While demuxing, its only copied outside the AVI file !!!

The AC3 gets... Decoded (uncompressed) -> Re-encoded (MPEG audio)

                Yes and No !!!

Compared to Music CD's, DVD movies have a very wide dynamic range...

Means, there is a higher difference between the loudest n' quitest sounds !!!

To oppose this, you can use DRC (Dynamic Range Compression) in the AC3 filter...

You could also raise the overall (Mater) volume...

Btw, the setting @ this pictures are not recommendet...

                Bye
