XviD "special" settings, help!

Hi!

Which is the better custom matrix for XviD for each kind of movie (anime, "normal" hi-q, low-q, etc.)?

I'd like to test some (expecially one for hi and one for low bitrate...or better, BPF), but there are too many!

Since 1.0FinalRelase I was a DivX-fan(atic), so I'm not a XviD expert...

I use default settings (but "H.263" for low bpf and "MPEG" for hi) because, reading some forums, I've seen too many contradictory opinions about VHQ and trellis.
Aniway, VHQ=1 seems to be the better for definition, but it can create some noise, while with higher values noise disappears (because of the better bitrate allocation precision), but frames are a little blurry (!!!)

@SpikeSpiegel i generally find that widesearch has better quality than mode one decision. But then i suppose everybody has different opinions though.

True, video quality is really subjective, somebody prefers clear pictures with less noise and details, someone else, like me, prefers max definition, even with a little noise...

I appreciate this kind of discussion:

my settings: Xvid devapi 3 ( for a dvd)

- uh 6
- h 263
- vhq 4
- treillis
- CM
- Chroma optimizer
- HVS best picture or fox intertaintement (for HD matrix 720p)


However, if you encodes a video from a dv capture you should use this settings (because of artefact of the reading)

- Chroma optimizer
- HVS best picture


XVID DEVAPI 3 is my favorite
