    Combining different avi's

I want to combine two avi's that are not the same aspec ratio, framerate, and bitrate? Is this possible? If so, what program should I use?

Not possible. The AVI have to be the encoded exactly the same.

Since that isn't possible, how do I find out all the info i need to know from one avi to convert the other to the same format? What program should I use to convert?

If my brain doesn't fail me I belive that you can right click on the file and choose properties. There you can see everything you need to know. Then you can use virtualdub to convert one of the movies to the same as the other. After this you can use virtualdub to merge them together to.
        This should work fine.

Right click the AVI and view the properties.
That will give you the information on size, fps, and
          what codecs have been used.

Then you could use Virtualdub to re-encode and put the two files together.

When you're sure you've got the same type of coding on the two avis then rename the first to whateveryouwant.00.avi and the second to whateveryouwant.01.avi.

That is so Virtualdub can put them together.

Open the first file in Vd.
Then FILE -- APPEND AVI SEGMENT
Then choose the second file and then
          FILE -- SAVE AS AVI
