Gspot says I have codecs installed but VDubMod says I don't

I went through the steps as follows:

Use VirtualDubMOD, to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:

    1) Load your original .AVI into VDubMOD
2)Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"
    3) Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"

"Streams>"Stream list">>rightclick on the listed audiostream
and then select "Full Processing Mode")

From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" and choose "No compression(PCM)"

"Streams>"Stream list" - rightclick on the listed audiostream and then select "Compression" and choose "No compression(PCM)")

    4) Save WAV" is located under the "Streams" drodpown menu) (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"

When I got to step 4, Vdubmod said:

No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format.

But you can see from the Gspot screenshot, that I do have the audio codecs needed.

TMPGEnc said the file was the wrong type or unsupported.

Please help - what am I doing wrong?

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

My problem is that I want to put this avi on a DVD+R and I have to make it into a DVD compatible MPEG. But TMPGEnc, Sonic, and Studio 9 all say it is an invalid file.

Gspot says I have the codecs needed.

VDubMod says "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format."

How can I separate the audio from the video and make the audio into a wav to join with the video - using TMPGEnc?

Any help at all would be appreciated. Or do I have this in the wrong area and should actually post it in another category?
