I'm a novice, I downloaded all the requirements but cant get any
avi file to open. message reads compressor not found?
HELP!

If you absolutely sure that you downloaded everything you need (which I doubt) I can't help you.... but in other case you can download nimo codec package and install that and it will probably work....

ok my guess is you havent got the mpeg42 codec which is a common problem with my computers i try watching it on.. i had to keep downl.oading it.. u will have to loo, for it if i find it in my travels then ill post up a link.. if u run it in virtualdub it will tell you whats missing... or if you play through realplayer that may tell you... happy divx to all : )
