    DVD 2 Divx

i have little of a problem when I'm trying to convert my Vob files that I ripped with smart ripper. I use graphedit to convert the audio the I use DVD2AVI to create a d2v file that I can convert to a "fake" avi with VFAPI converter.
When I've done all this I use Virtual Dub to convert this file to both divx and divx 4.12. Sometimes with both I get "nothing" I get a movie that opens and directly closes but it have a size. When I use DivX I get a green bold line in the top and in the left and it don't get any good quality. with 4.12 I get nothing=( only a window that opens and freezez=( I've tried to open the movie in both global divx and movie player....
    Can someone help me...

Perhaps you should try a simpler approach to converting the ripped .VOB - such as using Flask (or one of its derivatives) to create an already combined video/audio DivX-compressed .AVI file.

If I want it to get easier I could use easydivx which is even more easier. But with the easy the quality get worse=( and it'd this I would like to be able to come away from.
But if anyone doesn't have a tip I'll have to use easydivx anyway
      =(

erci, have you ever had a look at any tutorial on nandub?

it is most reliable and the best quality i've ever come across.

your version of dvd2avi or vfapi might be to blame?

i use 1.76, then opening the d2v file in gordianknot, do my resizing and cropping in GK, save the settings to an avisynth script (faster frameserver than vfapi!), open this avs in nandub, make my sbc settings and will be rewarded some couple of hours later.

It worked out really well... thx a lot for that now finally I can rip and encode a dvd without any bigger problem.
but one thing I don't understand so much about is where (if necessery) I should put the keyframes...

Nandub will do that automatically for you, provided you have enabled it.

The default settings have it enabled anyway. It's in the Internal SCD setting and within Nandub preference itself (Interframe Cut is the name, I remember correctly).
