    BeSweet VBR Lame encoding

I've used BeSweet to encode some audio using the "mp3 for avi" preset. But it seems this only does 128kbit CBR audio. So I used the "mp3 for music" preset, but after 30 min or so the audio gets terrible and the audio track is MUCH longer than the movie. Any ideas?

    Good evening Phytrax,

The VBR parameters allow the mp3 to reach an absolutely remarkable quality:

    --standard alt-preset: 185-210kb/s
    --extreme alt-preset: 230-260 kb/s
    --alt-preset insane: 320 kb/s

I am astonished that that it halts to 128 kbts.

I think that it is possible to increase the debits (if my memories are exact)
For that to make, click on the left on the button Lame 1 (in the zone where you already found the BeSweet button) and change the debit below on the left:

Besweet is a compiler of quality, but I prefer to use Headac3he 0.24

Thanks. I tried Headac3he but it won't handle avi audio so that adds another step. Also when I use Headac3he or BeSweet on a ac3 file it comes out all screwed up. If I use flask to downmix to PCM of CBR 320 I can then use BeSweet to convert the avi audio to VBR mp3 using the mp3 for music setting. Then recombine it with Nandub. I get a audio stream about the same size as a 128kbps CBR but with fantastic quality. I guess movie audio is more compressible than music.

It works for me but if anyone has a more direct approach I'd appreciate it.

        Good evening pytrax,

Your approach of conversion is a good idea.
But what is your software of audio conversion ?
Would it Cool edit pro 2.1, Sound forge 5.0, MusicMatche 9.00 or Xing mp3 encoder 1.5?

For my part, I keep the original sound (DD).

Note: What a pity that we abandoned the mp3 surround.
I think that it would enjoy well.

        Bye.

You will excuse me, because I had'nt understood that you used Besweet for the conversion in vbr (settings music).
But you can also make use of the software that I indicated to you upstream.
For optimal regulating, I would join you a guide shortly.

          Sorry and see you later

          Note: mp3 surround (5.1)

            Hello pytrax,

            I didn't recover my achives.
Nevertheless, you can make like that:

Besweet for the conversion ac3 to wav.
Either: yamp 2.3 for the conversion wav to mp3
            settings: HQ vbr 128kbts j-stereo

            or Headac3he 0.24
settings: preset - standard alt, mode vbr quality 0, j-stereo,

Note: The results of Yamp: listen to neutral, good dynamics, and of the depth.
Whereas Headac3he is more audiophile (a monitoring similar to EAC 0.96 pré bêta).

However, if I manage to find you an elitist solution, I would not hesitate to make you part.

BeSweet and Headac3he both can go from ac3 to mp3, but with besweet I can't get the mp3 to sync properly, and with Headac3he it tells me that most of the ac3 stream has errors.

I think the fastest, best quality way I have so far is have Flask out PCM audio, then use BeSweet to make it -alt standar VBR MP3, then use NanDub to join it back with the video.

If you know something that will reliably go from ac3 to VBR that would be a help.

                Hello Pytrax,

I found you a high-quality and very powerful software (be careful with the CPU) indispensable to all conversion of big class.
Its interface is clear and will reserve a lot of things.
2 translations are proposed English and the japonnais (don't forget to change the language in the title "language L")
Also it has a reader MCI Play of a big expressive beauty (audiophile); that you will be able to activate while clicking on the right side of your mouse of the source of your choice.
In the section of file conversion audio, nothing to signal. In one word brilliant in all point.
You wanted to convert the ac3 in vbr mp3 you won't be disappointed of the result.
                It is a true compiler.

You will be able to download the last version at this address:

Note: Little known of the general public because it is first an Asian product.
