    MainConcept H.264 encoder

I am using MainConcept H.264 encoder to convert the .avi file to H.264 format. But, when I click "Convert" the window disappears. I have gone to the location where the output file is stored. But the .mpg file size is 0 bytes. When I play, it displays the following message.
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the player doesnot support the format you are trying to play"

Why?. Is it necessary to register some DirectShow filters?

It sounds like there was an error somewhere here If the filesize was 0 bytes then it hasn't even encoded. When i encode with DVDx and if the odd time something happens and the encoder crashes or just closes like what's happened to yours then there was an error. I'm just guessing here, but it's more than likely.
