    DivX Vs XviD

Witch codec gives the highest quality video at bitrates 1000 - 1500 kbps.

What's the difference between XviD and DivX anyway. The only difference I know is that XviD is open scourse and DivX is not.

    Thanks for help!

        I'm sorry UncasMS.
I think that ties are better so:
        [Test Codec] H264, VP6, RV10, WMV9, DivX3, XviD, DivX5 ..... New and alternative video codecs

        Note:
It allowed me to rectify DOOM9 also rather than DOO9

xvid beats divx in absolutely all areas, in my opnion, except "user-friendlyness"...

it provides superior quality, and is much much faster

Both xvid and divx are mpeg 4. My vote definitely goes to xvid for quality and speed.

              hi guada,

i proposed to use the search function because we have had numerous threads on xvid vs divx in this forum as well

and of course it's fine to link to other boards/threads as well

Yeah, it only depends on the settings/features you have used...

Btw, the next XviD version (v.1.1) comes with VBV !!!

This will rise the compatibility even more...
