Question

Hi!! I'm new here and I'm desperate! And slightly irritated...

First I wanna state that as much as I love computers I'm pretty much and amateur. I don't know if this question goes here exactly but here it comes...

I usually watch divx files through widows media player, I dled the divx codec a long time ago, and I didn't have a problem. But lately I have been having some problems. I can watch and listen to most avi files without any troble, but sometimes the files has audio, and the video starts to play perfectly, perfect image, but after a few seconds it freezes on a shot, while the audio keeps playing. It's not a matter of size bc that happens with files from 1 mb to 700 mb, and not all the avi files, just some. I don't think it's the codec bc the image starts to play fine, and then freezes. And it's not the player bc I also tried with the compuetr nultimedia player, with winamp, real player.

Can anyone help me, please? It's really irritating and a drag.

If this is happening with files you've downloaded (NOT that you've created) there are too many possible reasons to guess at...

Yeah... I guess it was a long shot, buy I had to try. I really don't know what is it, and how can I solve it. I usually can fix all the problems I have, or at least know why I can't! I know that it's not the files (wich I didn't create, and are from diferent sources), bc I can watch them perfecly on other computers on the same player, so I think it has to be something on my computer.

Sounds like that would be the case. If you're O/S is WinXP, you might try performing a "System Restore" back to the last time things were working properly...
