XviD file sizes way too big

Hi there. I'm trying to encode The Simpsons Season 5 DVDs. I'm using Gordian Knot and XviD 1.03. I am using 128 kbps mp3 audio. (i'm sorry for the newbieness, please bare with me). I usually load the d2v file, run the compressibility check, and increase the file size until it gets to about 80% of the compressibility check. I've encoded seasons 1-4, and using the same process i'm using on this season 5, my end avi file is about 1.8 gb. For some reason, my files for season 5 are about 3 gigs. I tried reinstalling gnot & xvid, and lo and behold, the first disc of season 5 went back to 1.8 gbs. The second-fourth discs, however, went back to 3 gbs.

During the compressibility checks for the huge files, my average bitrate is about 2800 kbps (my target is 2000 during the gnot setup).

    Any clues?
    Thanks,
    Richard
