Here's one that's been buggin' me for some time:
I have a MyHD MDP-100 card and have captured a number of shows in 720p and 1080i. One of the things I've had some success in is converting the .TS to a .MPG, demuxing, reencoding the video down to 720x480 16:9 using DGIndex and TMPGEnc 2.51 and then using TMPGEnc Author and AC3DelayCorrector to create a very high quality 16:9 format DVD that I can share with my non-HDTV friends.
The Problem: Recording FOX 720p (this occurs with both the RedSox games earlier this year (DD5.1) and the most recent episodes of 24 (DD2.0)) I can easily play the full-blown 1280x720 MPG using InterVideo WinDVD6 no problem - just need at least 2.5GHz of CPU to be smooth and the audio is fine. The video conversion (via DGIndex) into TMPGEnc goes smoothly, it is recognized as 59.94 fps on entry and the encode method is defaulted to "progressive". The resulting video, played back on a progressive scan DVD player is awesome - very little degradation. The PROBLEM is the audio - which starts out in sync and progressively gets further and further ahead of the video on playback - by the end of an episode of 24, for instance, it's like minutes ahead. Everything sounds OK (i.e., no discernable increase in tone), and a number of different attempts to fix this (convert to .WAV first in DGIndex, for instance) all produce the same audio sync problem.
HELP!!!
