trying to convert wmv to avi

I have a 2 and a half hour movie put together. I now know that it was a mistake to use Windows Movie Maker but it's done! I can only encode 4 minute segments which is unrealistic for a project of this size. Does anyone know of a program for converting wmv files into avi or mpeg or whatever? Shame on Microsoft for not having conversion capabilities.

I use Mainconcept. Their is a problem with one of the wmv versions (can't remember which). Asf tools is supposed to be able to fix it but it didn't for me. You can also try Tmpgenc Plus. Both have a free trial version. Do a search on this site and on www.videohelp.com wmv to avi or wmv to mpeg.
