I have a avi file with Japanese subtitles (embedded and across the image) . I want to remove the subtitles and put them in a newer avi file (same length avi file). Can it be done? Thanks.

Unfortunately no, not if they are, as you state, permanent subtitles across the video image... -

I have one more question. Can the subtiltles from the avi file be converted to .sub or .str file?Comment

If they are permanently embedded in the image, I don't believe they are separately accessible for conversion (They are merely part of the graphic video images now)...Comment
