new at this, plase help. thanks

i'm using avi2dvd to convert my avi files to dvd. i have downloaded all the codes i need. here comes my problem.

    load avi/ogm/mkv. goes fine
    Ac3 generated successfuly!
    Start creating Avisynth Script...
    A visynth created successfuly!
    Bitrate used: 800 kbpps.
    Start video Encoding...

here is when things go wrong. because i get the following:

    Avisynth open failure.
-Avi source: couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc div3.

what is happening here? or what am i doing wrong? or maybe i need to install something else. i just don't know.

    thanks for your help.

You don't have the proper codec to view that video file.

Download a program called GSpot, and it will tell you what codec you need to play it, and what audio codec you will need to hear the audio. And, if either one is installed on your system.

G Spot - <A HREF="http://www.headbands.com/gspot/download.html"><FONT COLOR="330033"> Click Here To Find Out What Codecs You Need </A></FONT>

          "couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc div3."

You have to download and install the DivX v.3.11alpha codec...
