Encoded the divx, now I have to find out how to use subtitles

I had them selected in flask mpeg, but they dont seem to be able to use them (do you have to enable them). Is there any way to add them back in, or am i just not turning them on.

Also, the audio seems to be out of sync, whats the easiest way to get it back into sync.

    Thanks

You should be able to insert the subtitles when you open the ifo. files (Open DVD) in Flask.

As for your audio, what settings are you using? As in what codec and bitrate?

OK, I used the radium mp3 codec, at 160kbs

As for the subtitles, I selected them at the start, and they don't seem to have been added.

try my GUI. It supports multiple audio streams and yet "only" one disc operation....

What I really want to do is get the subtitles to be a part of the frame itself, preferably without reencoding, or at worst doing the second pass again.

I have had the exact same problems like you
I tried encoding japanese anime with subtitles
but it didnt work in Flask
The reason is that flask just assumes all subtitle files are located in the first stream
but some DVD have the subtitles in the 0 stream
so the thing your should do is d/l
            vodsub
            then open virtual dub
            file
            open video file
            video
            filters
            add
            load
choose the filter that you have installed
then open (you have 2 options for the next path)
            1. if you have the .ifo and .vob choose that in the file type
and then the subtitle will be ripped (be patient) and saved in .idx and .sub
2.if you have the .idx or .sub
            just open it
            then go ok ok
choose your video compression and audio compession (you can leave it by choosing direct stream copy
then wallah you have an .avi file with permanent subtitles
it will take about the same length of time as the movie
( so a 100 min movie will take about 100 min to encode)

              also
you said that the audio was out of sync
              that shouldnt happen with flask
are you changing the sample frequency?
if yes i think flask has a problem with that and so makes sync probs
so what you should do is leave inpu the same
              (sleect same as input)
              and encode
after that you can use virtual dub and lower the frequency

Ive got the audio working fine, just a matter of using virtual dub to move it arround.

Ill try the subtitles over the weekend. Not enough time due to shcool atm.

Also, where can i download vobsub?
