Xvid To Dvd Audio Is Out Of Sync

I have problems getting audio to sync with the video when ever i convert vbr based xvid files to DVD. Over time the audio

gradually gets out of sync.



Some background info:

Programs used for encoding: DIKO GOLD build 1.48b3

DIKO GOLD settings: mode bdvd, standard: PAL, video encoder CCE SP audio encode AC3 (software based). Encoding mode -

quality based, Max Q factor: 40, audio: all boxes unchecked, 2.0 audio 64kbs, 5.1 audio 224 kbs.

Methodology:

Use DIKO for all the conversion work as its quick and fast and gives good results.

create a dvd image using DIKO
mount image using daemon tools 3.47 (all emulation modes turned on.
burn the image using Nero Ultra Ed Burning Rom build 6.3.1.25

whatever prog i use i always create an image file for nero to burn.

Sirius dvd / cdr replicator (7x dual layer 16x sony burners , 1 reader, 1x 80hdd all wrapped in a Full atx case)

pc is via asus 9800 xt pro's break out box s-video out linked to standalone sony rdr HX-1000 DVD recorder (with a sony vcr likned to it which in turn is linked to a 36" panasonic widescreen tv.

de-mux the audio and video. encode the audio and video separately. check to see that the audio and video are the same length and correct if necessary. mux the audio and video together. for problematic videos you have to sometimes do this. Or you can try a better program such as mainconcept (fastest) or Tmpgenc plus. you can d/la trial version from their website.
