    Tmpgenc probs with Xvid files

Hi all....just recently i've been having problems re-encoding XVID with Tmpegnc ... the problem is when i load the file into Tmpgenc on any setting Svcd or DVD the wizard see's the file as twice the length..E.G 1 hr 30 would double to 3 hrs...Tmpgenc is seeing both the video and the sound seperatly...so if i encode i'll get film then sound...i think i've had this problem in the past and i think it has something to do with the enviromental settings but can't remember which setting should be changed.

    It see's Avi's ok..!

I have the latest Xvid codecs.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

    options/environmental settings/ "vfapi" tab

raise directshow multimedia file reader to 2 or so it is the highest of others

(do this by right clicking on it, "higher priority")
you will likely have to do this 2 or 3 times.
i always leave this like this, because if i didn't half the time tmpgenc would spit at the files i give it

another method that usually works is to set start/end frames under "other settings" , "source range" manualy. but try the above first
