    Help with vso divxtoDVD

Ok so I am looking for a way to burn some avi's to a DVD that can play in my DVD player. I tried TMPeng but it says the video is not a supported type or some crap like that. So I tried VSO DivxtoDVD, it converts the avi to vts files just fine. The problem comes after the burn, I put it in my DVD player and it says Check your TV system. I have burned over 100 DVD's with my burner a NEC 3520a and this media, no problems. Only when I try to use DivxtoDVD.

The DVD will play in my computer fine though, any help?

raise directshow multimedia file reader in environmental settings---it will almost certainly be accepted.

Ok I did that, but now I TMPGEnc starts to load the video, then errors out and shuts it self down.

This is the only change to the settings I have made.

"then errors out and shuts it self down."

something other than the file itself is causing this....

Any clue what it could be? Does it on more than one AVI. If I can't use TMPGEnc that is fine, I just want to put my AVI's on to DVD. vsodivxto dvd is out also as my dvd player can't read them for some reason.

            your player can't read???????

vso divx2dvd will convert your avi's to dvd

your saying when you try to encode a movie in tmpgenc it generates an error (which one) and completely shuts down? i've never had this happen to me, it really is one of the best programs to use. wonder if a re-boot would correct it or a re-install.

              To ajp

After using "VSO DivxtoDVD" to convert the .AVI to DVD file format and structure (.IFOs, .BUPs, and .VOBs), what software and procedures do you use to burn the DVD?

use either avicodec or Gspot (both free) and tell us what format the audio and video are in.

Ok well I found the problem i think why vso isnt working, it was encoded with xvid.

As far as the error, it is just the normal windows based this program has encountered and error and is shutting down, no more detail.

I was using dvdshrink to get it to size and nero to burn, burns fine and plays in my pc fine, but not my dvd player.

I don't have this problem when backing up a dvd, just when I try to burn a avi.

If the burned DVD "plays fine" in your PC when played "AS DVD" (NOT simply individual .VOBs), then there's nothing wrong with the disc or the procedures you've used...

Just a thought....but your encoded DVD is it encoded to NTSC or PAL.

Does your TV support both formats for playback?
