under video, "snapshot source frame" take a still image of any frame on the video that shows the problem at hand and save as a BMP. post that image here so we can see what it looks like. if you need to change it to jpeg, load the BMP into paint and go to file, save as, jpeg. then use that to post here...

the files are probably ok since they look good in vdub, it's some sort of codec configuration/or "lack of" issue since all the xvid's do this.

:s hmm .. so i think virtualdub uses some codecs can i just copy some .dll from virtualdub's folder and paste them to windows/system folder maybe it will work ..
and if yes which one i need to copy ..
or maybe there is some other solution :S

no offense, but divx player is crap IMO.

get media player classic, see how this looks. use this to play all of your video (even dvd)

              it's free too.

Download guliverkli for free. Media Player Classic, now part of the mpc-hc project. Home of VobSub, Media Player Classic (MPC) and other misc utils. This project is now part of the Media Player Classic - Home Cinema project, at https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpc-hc/

              no, don't do that.

                  this usually solves such problems:

do you have the latest version of directx? (version 9.0c)

do you have your latest graphics card drivers?

once you are able to answer yes to those questions,

download & install the latest (alpha) version of "ffdshow" from http://www.free-codecs.com

make sure you download the "celtic druid" build

You could try the K-lite Codec Pak or the K-lite Mega Codec Pak, they have just about every codec known to man!

I would advise against a "codec" pack. Having to many codecs installed can generate problems. I would only install the codecs you need.

my list of all codecs/filters to play pretty much EVERYTHING at best quality and speed (all my opinion ofcourse ):

"ffdshow" (for almost everything except mpeg2/dvd, because of lack of dxva)
"nvidia dvd codec" (has best quality and lowest cpu usage, with dxva)
                            "real alternative"
                            "quicktime alternative"

                            and, ofcourse, "media player classic"

this is all i have installed on my system, regarding playback filters, and should play just about everything. gives excellent quality, and lowest cpu usage

ps: make sure "ffdshow" is the "celtic druid" build, as it has support for decoding x264
